Strengthening Vietnam–Japan Partnership in Green and Sustainable Agriculture
On October 10, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture & Environment of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng received and held a working session with a consortium of investors including Colowide MD Co., Ltd. (Japan) and N&V Bridge Co., Ltd. (Vietnam).
The meeting took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, focusing on strategic cooperation directions in agricultural production, food processing, fisheries, and environmentally friendly agricultural development in Vietnam.

Representing the Japanese side, Mr. Isono Takeo – Chief Executive Officer of Colowide MD, introduced the company’s business model and extensive experience in Japan’s food supply chain.
Colowide MD is one of Japan’s leading corporations in the food production, processing, and restaurant sectors, operating more than 5,000 restaurants and outlets worldwide.
The company is currently expanding its international partnerships to ensure supply chain stability, promote innovation, and enhance sustainable values across its operations.
Five Strategic Cooperation Proposals with Vietnam
During the meeting, Mr. Isono Takeo presented five key cooperation proposals for developing long-term collaboration between Japan and Vietnam, through the support and coordination of N&V Bridge Group:
Investment in Rice Production and Processing for Export to Japan
In response to Japan’s declining domestic rice production caused by climate change, Colowide MD expressed interest in investing in rice cultivation and processing facilities in Vietnam that meet Japanese quality standards, enabling the export of Vietnamese rice to Japan.
Developing the Food Processing Industry in Vietnam
Rather than importing only raw materials, Colowide MD proposed to build a complete food value chain in Vietnam, where production, processing, and packaging take place locally. This approach will increase product value, reduce logistics costs, and create more local employment opportunities.
Expanding Cooperation in Fisheries and Aquatic Products
Recognizing Vietnam’s advantage as a major global supplier of shrimp and seafood, Colowide MD aims to develop high-quality supply partnerships with Vietnamese producers, serving the company’s global network of sushi and Japanese cuisine restaurants.
Promoting Green Agriculture and Circular Energy Solutions
Colowide MD highlighted plans to utilize agricultural by-products such as rice straw, husks, and residues to produce biomass energy, improve soil quality, and reduce CO₂ emissions, contributing to a low-carbon and sustainable agricultural model. Japan’s advanced technologies in this field are expected to be shared and applied in Vietnam.
Fostering Research Collaboration and Technology Transfer
The company also emphasized the importance of research partnerships and technology transfer between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, universities, and research institutions, focusing on sustainable, safe, and high-efficiency agricultural production aligned with global trends.

Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng highly appreciated the goodwill and strategic vision of Colowide MD and N&V Bridge Group, affirming that:
