LAUNCHING SON, GOAL! – THE FIRST JAPANESE – VIETNAM COOPERATION MANGA BOOK

The launch program Son, Goal!: The comic series that crossed national borders took place on July 28, 2022, at Kim Dong Publishing House.

Paint, Goal! is the first Japanese-Vietnamese cooperative manga series, launched to Vietnamese readers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 – 2023). This is a new mark on the 30-year journey of publishing Manga to serve Vietnamese readers.

 

Son, Goal! is the first Manga comic project to be scripted and set in Vietnam with the participation of a production team from two countries Japan – Vietnam. The work was created by artist Baba Tamio, the editorial team of Kadokawa Publishing House & Kim Dong Publishing House jointly implemented, with the support of N&V Bridge Group.

 

The main character of the series is Son – a boy whose mother is Vietnamese, born and raised in the “kingdom of football” Brazil, has just returned to his hometown Da Nang. The story takes the theme of the “king sport” in Vietnam, revolving around the journey to conquer the peak of football of Son and his teammates. As a teenager living far from his hometown since childhood, can Son overcome the language barrier to connect with his teammates?

Player Van Hau and Player Hai Yen hope that the series will spread the love of football to the young generation, promoting the image of Vietnamese football to Japan.

Mr. Aoyagi Masayuki, Publishing Director, Kadokawa Publishing House, said: “Through the comic series Son, Goal!, we want to convey to the Vietnamese children the importance of friendship and the effort to strive together. game, as well as the greatness of football.” Mr. Aoyagi Masayuki said that Kadokawa worked with Kim Dong Publishing House and author Baba Tamio for more than a year to complete this work.

 

Nguyen Vo Huyen Duong, General Director of N&V Bridge Group who is the connection between Kadokawa Publishing House and Vietnamese partners, said that the Vietnamese version of Son Goal was released in the Vietnamese market from July 28. As expected, the Japanese version of the manga will be released in Japan early next year.

Artist Baba Tamio, the author of the series, shared that football is the sport that gave him the opportunity to become a manga author. When Japan just started participating in the professional football tournament, attending the World Cup, he was assigned to draw a manga about football to make Japanese football more exciting.

“Football will be a common language to help us understand each other” is the message that the book wants to convey.

Manga comic series with Viet Son identity, Goal! will ignite the passionate fire of football-loving hearts, promising to bring a new, vibrant and vibrant color palette to young readers who love comics.

Talking at the meeting, Mr. Masayuki Aoyagi said that the delegation came to Da Nang this time with the purpose of introducing and giving the comic series “Son Goal”, with the quantity of 500 books to primary schools in the city. This is a comic book with the theme of Vietnamese football, co-produced by Kadokawa Publishing House and Kim Dong Publishing House, with two versions in Vietnamese and Japanese. The football tournament was held in Da Nang city, with famous landmarks of the city such as Dragon Bridge, My Khe beach…

 

Besides football stories, the appearance of Vietnamese landmarks and landscapes in the comic series will contribute to promoting and helping international friends, including Japanese people, to better understand the land.
